It’s true, friends.  Your source of the most delicious cake pops on the planet is closing it’s doors after Christmas.

I give you permission to take a moment of silence before reading on. ;)

My life is a crazy, busy, insane, overbooked, overflowing, exciting, joyful, and overwhelming mess.  And I love it that way.  I love being constantly surrounded by fun-loving friends and family and I love being on the move.  I love a having a full calendar and I love giving of myself to those around me. I love making creative desserts.  I love making kids smile on their birthday because their cake is just what they dreamed.  I love the look of sheer pleasure that comes over someone’s face when they try one of my cake pops for the very first time. I love it all.

But… there comes a point when “doing it all” becomes “doing too much.”  There comes a point when saying yes to one thing means saying no to another.  And that’s where I am today.

“Find that courageous yes.  Fight for that confident no.” – Lysa TerKeurst, The Best Yes

If you haven’t heard about Komae yet, go check it out.  In a nutshell, my friend Audrey and I are Co-Founders of the next big thing in the parenting world; a babysitting exchange app.  We are on a mission to reinvent babysitting and enrich family lives across the country.  We started with a traditional babysitting co-op almost 2 years ago and over time, God has shown us that we needed to turn our system into an app, allowing families everywhere to have access to such a useful, life-giving tool.   A tool that will eliminate the cost and guilt of babysitting for families and allow them to exchange free babysitting with their friends.

God has also shown me that in order to follow His lead and run full-force in the direction of Komae, I need to let something go. My husband and I knew that we were not going to give up on me being home with our two little boys, or ministering to the life group we lead at our church.  So that has left us saying good-bye to La Hoot.

“Never is a woman so fulfilled as when she chooses to underwhelm her schedule so she can let God overwhelm her soul.” – Lysa TerKeurst, The Best Yes

This was not an easy decision, and surely not one that I made lightly.  I am sad that I won’t be able to make your special occasions all the sweeter.  But I am happy that I have an opportunity to change the temperature in households across the country with Komae.  I am excited for the plans God has for Audrey and I in this adventure and would love for you to hear a piece of our heart regarding this project…

Thank you so much for love you’ve had for my desserts.  My customers mean the world to me and I am thankful for the relationships that La Hoot has brought my way.   It has been a treasured time in my life and I will miss it dearly.  But I am equally as excited for the next season of my life to come. <3

“Like a tree, a woman can’t carry the weight of two seasons simultaneously. In the violent struggle of trying, she’ll miss every bit of joy each season promises to bring.” – Lysa TerKeurst, The Best Yes
