One of my best friends is on the verge of having her first baby, and I had the pleasure of playing a roll in her baby shower by creating the desserts! ?What she was looking for were Red Velvet and Vanilla cupcakes, along with some chocolate and vanilla cake pops. ?This shower was going to be themed with elephants and covered in gray and yellow chevron. ?Something extra special about this order is that she was looking for paper crafted cupcake toppers… a new specialty of mine since purchasing my Cricut die cutting machine!

This was one of the most well put together and thought out showers I’ve been to in a long time. ?Let me give you a tour through some pictures I took. ?Go ahead and click on the pictures to get a larger view!

There was a wishing tree (essentially, the guests were asked to write little words of wisdom for the parents and hang them on the tree). ?There was a huge bundle of gifts complete with a decorated table for the guests of honor to eat their meal. ?And there was a themed board displaying pictures of the parents-to-be as babies themselves. ?Something else that I loved, but unfortunately failed to get a picture of, was a station set up for the guests to make headbands for the new baby. ?It was crazy cute.

For the dessert table, there were cupcakes and cake pops by yours truly, accompanied by a full on candy bar full of sweet treats for the guests t take home as a favor.

To finish out this blog of classy cuteness, I’ll give you some closeups of the cupcake toppers and desserts. ?I’m so excited to continue growing my paper crafting skills and soon be opening La Hoot’s Etsy shop with more toppers like these!
